Arthur D. Wright correspondence and administrative records, 1926-1952.

The series consists of the records of Arthur D. White as President of the Negro Rural School Fund, Inc. (also known as the Anna T. Jeans Foundation) from 1931-1937 and as Executive Director of the Southern Education Foundation from 1937-1946. Most all of the correspondence relates to the business of the Negro Rural School Fund Board of Trustees such as notifying members of meetings and nominating individuals to serve, therefore most of the letters are addressed to board members. Among other subjects addressed in the letters is the hiring of Dr. J. Curtis Dixon as Executive Director of the Southern Education Foundation. Much of the material in the administrative records subseries deals with issues relating to Jeanes Teachers in the Southern States.
